fitme Journal: Accountability

accountability athome family Jun 30, 2021

I'm home from Nashville.  My boys who are 10 and 12 came with my husband Josh to get me from the airport. That means they really missed me.

My daughter Georgia, who is 2, actually ran to me when I got home.   I missed them a lot.

To say I was tired from travel would be a huge understatement.  I was exhausted. The kind of exhausted that makes you nauseous.

But a funny thing... last night after dinner, I got Bonny and went for a walk. I didn't feel like it... I had already been gone from my kids for 5 days and definitely wanted to see them.  But I grabbed her leash...and walked a mile.

Why?

Because I didn't want to write you today and tell you I didn't do it.   I told you I would in my email...so I stuck to it.   You may not have realized it, but you gave me accountability.

Can I be honest?   Even though I've been a coach for 8 years and founded fitme, I still need accountability to do the basics.   I didn't want to walk... had reasons not to... like being tired and missing my kids... but my body needed a walk.

Needing a walk and knowing I should probably wouldn't have been enough to get me to do it.   I only did it because I had accountability.

Funny how our brains work.

Why don't you try it... write me back and tell me what you need accountability for today.   See if it helps.  I'll know, you'll know, and I bet it will help you stick to it.

Until tomorrow,

Christy
